Bettina Judd is an interdisciplinary artist, activist, and researcher in the field of Women’s Studies. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Women’s Studies at the University of Maryland, where she focuses on Black women’s Arts. As an interdisciplinary artist she utilizes poetry, music, performance, photography, and painting to shed light on the history and present of black women's experiences. She is a Cave Canem fellow and her work has been published in literary magazines such as Torch and Dark Phrases: Sarah Lawrence College's literary mag for writers of color. As an activist she works to create spaces where black women can feel safe and share stories of strength and survival, facilitate healing, and redefine sisterhood. She currently lives in Washington, DC.
